Redbeck Rabbit Boarding

Privacy & Cookies

This notice explains what personal information Redbeck Rabbit Boarding collects, why, and what rights you have. It applies to this website, our booking and contact forms, and any contact you have with us by email, phone or Facebook.

Who we are

Redbeck Rabbit Boarding is run by Claudia and Martin Maran in Bradford, West Yorkshire. We decide how your information is used, which makes us the data controller under UK data protection law.

Contact us about your data at claudia@redbeck-rabbit-boarding.co.uk or on 07860 113669.

What we collect

  • Your details: name, address, phone number and email address.
  • Your emergency contact: the name and phone number of the person who can collect your pet if we cannot reach you.
  • Your pet's details: species, age, diet, health, medication, vaccination records and care needs.
  • Your vet's details: practice name and contact details.
  • Booking and payment records: dates of stay, services, invoices and payments.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, phone, text or Facebook.

Why we use it

  • To take and manage your booking and care for your pet. We need this information to provide the service you ask for (contract).
  • To contact your vet or emergency contact if your pet needs care. This protects your pet's welfare and is part of the service you book (contract and legitimate interests).
  • To keep financial records. The law requires us to keep accounts (legal obligation).
  • To answer your questions. When you get in touch, we use your details to reply (legitimate interests).

We never sell your information and we do not send marketing.

The Redbeck Rabbit chat helper

The chat helper on our pages answers general questions from the information on this website. If you type a question, it is sent to our booking system on Cloudflare, which uses Cloudflare's AI service to write the answer. We do not save your questions or the answers, and the helper never asks for your name, contact details or payment details. Please do not type personal or health details into it; for anything about your own pet, phone or email Claudia instead. The quick question buttons do not send anything anywhere. The speaker button plays recordings stored on this website.

Photographs

We may photograph boarding pets for updates, our website and social media, as set out in our terms and conditions. Tell us in writing if you do not want your pet photographed.

Who we share it with

We only share information with services we use to run the business, and only what each one needs:

  • Cloudflare: hosts this website and our booking system, including booking requests, messages, visit requests and the vaccination cards you upload, and the questions typed into the chat helper (answered by Cloudflare’s AI service and not stored).
  • Google Fonts: supplies the website's fonts. Your browser connects to Google to load them, which means Google receives your IP address.
  • Facebook: if you message us there or join our updates group.
  • Your vet or emergency contact: only when your pet's care requires it.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK law.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and pet care records while you are a customer and for up to six years after your last stay, so we have your pet's history and meet tax record rules. Messages that do not lead to a booking are deleted within twelve months.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies. That is why you will not see a cookie banner.

We count page visits with a simple counter that records which page was viewed, the site you came from and how much of the page was read. It stores nothing on your device, uses no cookies and does not record your IP address or identify you.

Our booking, contact and visit request forms do not use cookies either.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • ask us to delete your information, where we do not need to keep it by law
  • object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere

Contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
